Being creative is not as easy as it may seem. You have to be in the right head space, the right environment, and be feeling inspired to get the creative juices flowing. Finding inspiration can be difficult. So we thought why not share things that inspire us on our blog! That way we can always go back to refer to what we shared on here and also so you can share your thoughts, ideas and opinions on what we share. That way you get to have input into our design process as well.
Designing a pair of socks is not easy. You not only have to think of what you want to put on the sock but how it will look on the sock, where the design will sit, what will show with and without and a shoe on etc. It is time consuming and a never ending process. Then once you're happy with the design, the sampling process starts, which there is always at least one error or one thing to change. Then it's back to the drawing board and you edit the design and alter it to suit the knitting.
We have recently started rebranding at Restless Socks, if you haven't already noticed a few slight changes. We have redesigned our logo, business cards and packaging. (Check out the new website logo on the homepage to see what we have done. We would love to hear your thoughts on it as well, so feel free to comment below). As the brand evolves so does our identity. The world is forever changing and great brands change with the times. We have been pondering about rebranding for quite sometime, and have had to think about what it is we really want our brand to represent.
Both of us here at Restless Socks have grown up our together. The best years were our primary school years, and we wanted the brand to reflect the carefree nature of being a kid. We love kids sock designs and want to make the same designs for adults. We hate the idea of growing up, it really isn't much fun at all. Being a kid is the best experience, so we are taking it back to the 90's with our new collection and solely (pun intended) focusing on a 90s aesthetic as our future brand direction. Fashion is obviously extremely important to us and we are constantly inspired by 90s sportswear. What do you guys think about this? Here are a few images of some 90s clothing that have inspired us and remind us of our childhoods.
